updating kindle book

Hi Dave,

You commented that you can update a kindle book by resubmitting the modified copy from your kindle account, but, do you know how a purchaser can be sure to replace their old copy with the revised copy?

Matt,

It is my understanding that you just delete the old version from your Kindle and download the new version; however, there is a lot of talk on the Kindle forum that it is not working for everyone.

I think we need to do some more research. Sorry if that is not helpful.

Regards,
Dave

Finally fixed Kindle book version updating
by: Anonymous

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that, I had already figured out to try deleting and reloading the book, but thanks anyway =)

I've got it sorted now,

I tried just uploading the new version of the book several times (just to fix minor typos) and found the cover picture, and description text all ended up being changed - but not the book itself.

It turns out that you must change the 'edition number' in KDP select - and it must be simply 01 02 03 etc. (I first tried version 1.01 to indicate very minor changes but that didn't work so it must be like '02')

Thanks for your help anyway, hope this helps others - great site - keep it up.
